Victims of Domestic Abuse (Intermediate)

CPD Points: 1

Length of course: 1 hour

About this course

This course was published in May 2024. This short course covers the rules in place for victims of domestic abuse.

Appendix Victim of Domestic Abuse allows someone who has come to the UK in one of several (but not all) partner categories to stay in the country indefinitely if the relationship breaks down because of domestic abuse. It also allows for victims of transnational marriage abandonment who have been stranded abroad to apply for indefinite leave to enter as victims of domestic abuse, as well as allowing for child dependants to apply at the same time.

We cover how to make an application, evidence, decisions and challenges.

The course is only available to paying members of Free Movement. If you are not already a member, you can join here and access not just this course but all of our courses.
