Webinar: How to make a late application to the EU Settlement Scheme

This webinar covers the requirements for making a late application to the EU Settlement Scheme and current best practice. We explain how invalidity decisions can be challenged and options available for people who cannot meet the requirements.

CPD Points: 1
Length of course: 90 minutes

About this course

For the last year the Home Office has been taking a much stricter approach to dealing with late applications to the EU Settlement Scheme. Late applicants are no longer simply given the benefit of the doubt. So what counts as “reasonable grounds” for making a late application? And if the application is rejected, what can you do?

In this practical training webinar we talk through the requirements for making late applications, the latest guidance changes and Home Office practice. We’ll cover challenging invalidity decisions, making repeat applications and what the options are for someone who cannot meet the requirements.

Chris Benn is the Legal and Policy Manager at Seraphus with over 15 years’ experience in immigration and asylum law. He currently works with the EU Commission and European Union Delegation to the UK on the EU Settlement Scheme and EU Citizens Rights in the UK after Brexit.
