About this course

Increases in immigration application fees, the cost of living crisis and other unexpected events can make accessing public funds a lifeline for many individuals living in the UK.

Join us for an engaging workshop where we’ll explore how to apply to lift the “no recourse to public funds” condition for those with limited leave to remain in the family or private life categories.

In this interactive session, we’ll cover:

  • the eligibility criteria for accessing public funds, including a detailed look at the changes expanding eligibility beyond the family, private life and British national (overseas) routes and what to think about when considering applications for people in this category
  • what to consider when applying to lift the condition when the applicant is in the five year route to settlement
  • how to prevent reimposition of the condition on renewal of leave and what to do if it is reimposed
  • the relevance of a fee waiver grant to the “no recourse to public funds” decision
  • lifting the “no recourse to public funds” condition where the applicant is in receipt of section 17 support
  • using evidential flexibility
  • what to do if the application is refused
  • what can be done about delays

Designed as a small online workshop, we are limiting attendance to a maximum of 12 attendees. Through complex case studies and expert guidance from the tutor, you’ll gain valuable insight into how to effectively prepare a successful change of conditions application as well as common problems and how to address them.
