Immigration Solicitor/Senior & Advanced IAAS Accredited Caseworker; paralegal with or without IAAS accreditation.

Thompson & Co. Solicitors Ltd offers diverse expertise in a wide range of practice areas, including but not limited to immigration, asylum and human rights law. We are seeking to recruit paralegals and IAAS accredited Senior or Advanced Caseworkers/Lawyers to join the firm as we continue to enjoy a strong demand for our services. Our offices are based in Tooting, Morden, Southall and Central London.

We hold legal aid contracts in Immigration/Asylum and Public Law categories, with Detained Duty Advice (DDA) contracts at Harmondsworth, Colnbrook, Yarlswood, Brook House and Tinsley House Immigration Removal Centres. The firm also holds Detained Asylum Casework (DAC) contracts at Harmondsworth, Colnbrook and Yarlswood. We act in all categories of asylum and human rights cases including applications for minors; victims of trafficking; detention removal; unlawful detention claims; and judicial reviews. We also undertake non-asylum immigration work under Exceptional Case Funding.

We have an experienced team of senior caseworkers, solicitors and barristers. We offer our services at all stages of a client’s legal journey and have conducted litigation at the House of Lords and Supreme Court.

We are committed to investing in our staff members and provide ongoing continuing professional development to aid their career progression. Supervisors and Heads of Department provide ongoing peer support and operate an open-door supervision policy. Opportunities for development and progression within the firm are always encouraged.

All caseworkers are given access to EIN and HJT. Other logistic support such as use of laptop or mobile phone may be provided subject to availability and reasonableness.

The Firm considers offering Training Contract to Accredited Senior Casework candidates.

Successful candidates will be required to attend one or other of our offices in Morden, Tooting or Southall.

Essential requirements: experience, knowledge and commitment to asylum and immigration law.

Salary package:

  • Paralegals with no accreditation: £16,800.
  • Paralegals with trainee caseworker accreditation: £18,000.
  • Paralegals with level 1 caseworker accreditation: £18,000 to £20,000
  • Level 2 Senior Caseworkers £25,000 – £33,000.
  • Level 3 Accredited Solicitors/Legal Executives/Barristers: £50,000 – £60,000.

(N.B. salaries may differ depending on experience, qualifications and billing targets)
