CPD Points: 2

Length of course: 2 hours

About this course

This course was published in March 2023. It was created by Shelley Purchon, Director of English Unlocked.

This course is aimed at people who work with public service interpreters, including immigration advisors, solicitors, barristers and the judiciary. It covers both face-to-face and telephone interpreting.

In this course you will learn where to seat everyone, how to communicate appropriately, the common mistakes that drive interpreters crazy, how to brief and debrief your interpreter, questions you shouldn’t expect your interpreter to answer and tasks you should not expect them to do.

The course is only available to paying members of Free Movement. If you are not already a member, you can join here and access not just this course but all of our courses. Membership starts from £24 plus VAT per month, or £240 plus VAT for annual membership, and you can cancel at any time. We also offer corporate and group membership options.

You can check out the course contents below.
