Webinar Replay: Exceptional circumstances in family-based immigration applications

This webinar looks at how partners and parents who cannot meet one or more of the requirements set out in Appendix FM can still make successful immigration applications by relying on exceptional circumstances.

Date of Recording: 24 October 2024
Length: 1 hour

About this webinar

What if someone is unable to meet the new minimum income requirement of £29,000 to join their partner in the UK? How can a parent with no immigration status apply to stay in the UK with their child?

In this webinar, we explain how family members can apply for permission to enter or remain in the UK by relying on the exceptional circumstances provisions.

We cover paragraphs EX.1 and GEN of Appendix FM in the immigration rules which allow for exceptions to be made in certain situations, for example, where there are “insurmountable obstacles” to family life continuing abroad or where a refusal could breach Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights. We’ll be focusing on key problems, offering practical solutions and providing insight into the art of making successful applications.
