About this course

The situation for holders of pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme is complex.

Automatic extensions and upgrades to settled status have caused widespread confusion, with updates to the continuous residence rules and the continuing development of automation. Large numbers of pre-settled status holders cannot be automatically upgraded and in some cases the Home Office may seek to curtail their status.

In this webinar we will:

  • explain how pre settled status holders can qualify for settled status looking at the new absence rules in force from 16 July 2025
  • explore the ongoing issues arising from automatic extensions of pre-settled status and automatic upgrades to settled status, and how to handle them
  • discuss which cases might be subject to curtailment and what to do if the Home Office seeks to curtail status

What do people say about our online IAA level 1 training?

I wish to thank Jasmine from the bottom of my heart for her excellent tuition, course delivery, exam feedback and the support she has provided to me for the two Level 2 training courses that I attended in April and October 2024. I achieved a high pass mark which enabled me and my firm to provide advice and services for complex casework in both the immigration and asylum categories. I truly do not think I would have been successful without her professional and invaluable assistance.

Tony Mattu, Beyond Borders Immigration Solutions (BBIS)

We have two members of the team who completed the level 1 course delivered in January – they have just passed their competency assessments with flying colours 😊 Thank you for the excellent course structure and support which will have contributed towards their success.

Lucy Walmsley, The Westwood Organisation

It’s a great way to gain foundational understanding of immigration law that is digestible yet still comprehensive. I liked how interactive the class was where we were encouraged to utilise our knowledge and test our understanding.

Ashari Bilan-Cooper

Detailed but not overwhelming. The examples where good and illustrated complex parts well. The quiz at the end was very good.

Ana Hart UK Visas

I thought the test questions were helpful. The language used was clear. The visuals for more complicated parts of the rules were great.

Katharine Higgs

Very clear language, useful examples, links to relevant further information, legislation, etc.
