New pricing for Free Movement membership from 1 May 2024

It is ten years since I launched Free Movement membership. In that decade, I’ve increased the cost just once, in 2022. Two years later, it is time for another increase.

The new prices will take effect from 1 May 2024 for all renewed subscriptions and for entirely new subscriptions.

If you are not currently a member but have been thinking about it, now would be a good time to sign up to an annual subscription. If you are a monthly member, switching to annual membership now would lock in your access to our resources at the current rates for the next year.

In the last two years, we’ve significantly increased the range of courses available to members and made sure they are all up to date. There were already hundreds of hours worth of courses. The mammoth OISC Level 2 course is new, so is the immigration law history course and we’ve also introduced several courses on business immigration. We’ve been working away at turning all our courses into downloadable ebooks, which will continue to be free for members. And members also get access to the private members’ forum.

We’ve also recently launched live training and Free Movement members are entitled to a substantial 20% discount on all those courses. We run one or two webinars a month as well as regular OISC Level 1 and OISC Level 2 courses.

So, we hope that Free Movement membership continues to be excellent value for money.

Meanwhile, inflation has increased the cost of running the site: staffing, hosting, web development and software costs, mainly. We now have four permanent employees as well as me, so absorbing inflation isn’t really viable. Sonia Lenegan edits the website, Jasmine Quiller-Doust is the training manager, Faye Clowes is now operations manager and Rachel Whickman is our new editorial and training assistant. The pricing increase is, overall, an inflation level increase.

CurrentNew£ increase£ per user% increase

I know that price increases are never welcome. My goal is to balance affordability with the continued delivery of high quality content and professional development.

If you have a question about pricing, drop me an email at editor@freemovement.org.uk. The same goes for any feedback on the courses or website content.
