MiCLU are looking to expand their specialist Direct Advice and Representation capacity.

MiCLU is a specialist legal and policy hub which provides direct representation, strategic litigation, policy advocacy and legal education in relation to the rights of children and young people in the UK asylum and immigration systems. We are a category 1 Legal Aid Immigration provider and we have considerable experience across the range of immigration work with experience of running cases at all levels of the Tribunal and Courts. Our overriding aim is to improve the outcomes for children and young people seeking to regularise their presence in the UK including those who have been trafficked or are fleeing persecution and undocumented children and young people.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced (5 years +) solicitor or senior caseworker to join a dynamic and supportive team and to use your legal skills to contribute to change for children and young people. The role will focus on the rights of children and young people subject to immigration control, with an initial focus on asylum work, and the potential to develop other aspects. The candidate must be an experienced IAAS Level 2 or above Asylum & Immigration Solicitor, able to work effectively with partner agencies in the voluntary sector, and should have the ability to deliver work outside office hours from time to time to meet the needs of our young clients and to ensure their voices inform our work.

Salary: £37,000 to £41,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Leave: 29 days plus bank holidays.
