As some blog readers will know from my Twitter account and others may have deduced from the sudden absence of branding on the blog, I have moved from Renaissance Chambers. I am now a tenant of Garden Court Chambers.

The last week has been a dizzying whirl, breaking news to colleagues and solicitors and arranging the physical relocation of my Stuff. I’m sad to have left Renaissance, which has a fantastic team of dedicated and skilled barristers and staff, but I am very excited to have joined the team at Garden Court.

The blog (and Twitter account) has been a little neglected as a consequence, for which I apologise. This has been exacerbated by my apparently being one of a small number of immigration barristers not currently in Tuscany, meaning there is an awful lot of work to do at the moment. Normal service to resume soon.

Separately, the blog experienced some sort of outage yesterday and the forum has had a few difficulties. Again, I’m sorry about that. This was caused, I think, by my testing some new software. There also seem to be a few underlying technical problems, the cause and consequence of which escapes me. Allegedly the blog had over 35,000 unique visitors last month, but I don’t think that can be right as there simply aren’t that many people in the world interested in UK immigration law. And there are thousands of ‘404 errors’ being reported where a website page or resource is requested but not found. However, as far as I can see the outward facing blog and forum is now functioning adequately, at least for now.
