New updates, commentary and advice on immigration law is added to Free Movement every working day. You can keep up with it in a variety of ways: by visiting the homepage, using the RSS feed, following us on social media (Facebook, Twitter and, coming soon, LinkedIn).

The vast majority of readers, according to the survey we ran earlier in the year, are alerted to new articles via email. These email alerts are changing to give people the ability to narrow down subject areas.

A weekly newsletter, containing a link to every article published in the past week and an additional news section, goes out every Monday around noon. If you already receive this, you will continue to. If you don’t receive this and would like to, sign up here.

A “daily” newsletter (actually only sent on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) has also been an option up until now. This is being phased out.

To cater for people who want to be emailed new articles in something like real time, we are introducing immediate email alerts. By updating your email preferences, you can choose to be alerted to new posts in any or all of the following categories:

  • Brexit
  • Refugees and asylum
  • Deportation and detention
  • Business

You can choose to receive alerts in multiple categories, or indeed choose to receive an alert about every Free Movement piece as it’s published (“Just send me everything straightaway!” in your email preferences).

These immediate alerts are separate from the weekly newsletter. You get any combination of newsletters and alerts you wish — and of course can unsubscribe at any time.

We have also been taking stock of the data we hold as part of our preparations for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). One consequence is that if you have not opened an email from us for three months or more we will remove you from our mailing list at the end of this week. Sign back up any time.

Colin has drafted a GDPR-compliant privacy policy. Have a look here if interested.
