Do you want to play an important role in a high profile national charity?

JCWI (Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants) is looking for a dynamic and committed Solicitor or Level 2 caseworker with at least 2-3 years’ experience of working in immigration and asylum law to join our expanding legal department. This is a unique opportunity for a lawyer to influence policy as well as assist clients.

You will assist in manning our specialist advice line, funded by Trust for London, which runs three mornings a week. This is designed to give advice and assistance to undocumented migrants. You will also be involved in strategic discussions on how to use our casework for policy change and will be assisted by the policy, campaigns and communication teams.

You must be able to provide high quality legal advice and assistance to JCWI’s wide client base. Your caseload will consist of a mix of legal aid and private matters, encompassing all aspects from initial applications, statutory appeals, judicial review and applications to the higher courts.

You will be a team player with a commitment to JCWI’s mission.

Salary: £26,556 to £32,164 – depending on qualification and experience
