This webinar looks at the options for refugees and people with humanitarian protection status to bring their family members to the UK.
Appendix Family Reunion (Sponsors with Protection) was closed to new applications on 4 September 2025. While this does not mean that refugees can no longer bring their family members to the UK, it does make it much more difficult.
In this webinar we’ll explore the options available to family members of people with protection status, including Appendix FM, Appendix Child Relative (Sponsors with Protection) and other available routes.
Most applications require the applicant and sponsor to meet more stringent requirements, such as a financial and English language requirement.
Not everyone will be able to meet these requirements, so we’ll talk through how applicants can still make successful applications where it can be established there are exceptional circumstances.

I wish to thank Jasmine from the bottom of my heart for her excellent tuition, course delivery, exam feedback and the support she has provided to me for the two Level 2 training courses that I attended in April and October 2024. I achieved a high pass mark which enabled me and my firm to provide advice and services for complex casework in both the immigration and asylum categories. I truly do not think I would have been successful without her professional and invaluable assistance.
We have two members of the team who completed the level 1 course delivered in January – they have just passed their competency assessments with flying colours 😊 Thank you for the excellent course structure and support which will have contributed towards their success.
It’s a great way to gain foundational understanding of immigration law that is digestible yet still comprehensive. I liked how interactive the class was where we were encouraged to utilise our knowledge and test our understanding.
Detailed but not overwhelming. The examples where good and illustrated complex parts well. The quiz at the end was very good.
I thought the test questions were helpful. The language used was clear. The visuals for more complicated parts of the rules were great.
Very clear language, useful examples, links to relevant further information, legislation, etc.
