About this webinar

Despite the sharp increase in reports of persecution and widespread human rights abuses following the Taliban takeover, the path to seeking international protection in the UK has not been easy for Afghan nationals.

Counterintuitively, Afghan clients have been facing increasing challenges, both in accessing the available resettlement pathways, and in succeeding in their in-country claims.

This webinar provided an overview of the issues faced by Afghans seeking protection in the UK, and set out the means of tackling these challenges.  The course covers:

  • The resettlement schemes available to Afghan Citizens;
  • Difficulties in accessing ACRS;
  • Challenging ineligibility decisions under ARAP;
  • Delays in processing ARAP applications;
  • Contemporary UK policy regarding in-country Afghan asylum claims;
  • Best practice in preparing asylum appeals for Afghan clients.

The webinar aimed to give practical legal knowledge for those advising and representing Afghan clients seeking international protection in the UK.
