The role
We have a great opportunity for an experienced Immigration Caseworker to join our forward thinking and dynamic Employment team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong interest and experience in UK Immigration Law and/or Nationality Law to support our Immigration Partner with immigration casework including the provision of expert support to clients navigating the complexities of UK immigration, citizenship, and nationality matters. This role will assist with the provision of a quality service to clients in relation to all aspects of immigration to include:
Key tasks:
- Work closely with the supervising solicitor to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist clients with a variety of immigration matters, including but not limited to visa applications, indefinite leave to remain, and naturalisation applications.
- Review and prepare immigration applications to ensure they comply with current UK Immigration Law and relevant Home Office guidelines.
- Maintain and update client case files, ensuring all correspondence and documents are correctly filed and managed.
- Liaise with clients to gather the relevant documentation and information required for the visa application submission, provide updates on case progress, and answer queries.
- Draft cover letters and prepare supporting documents to be submitted to the Home Office.
- Preparing application packages for review by the supervising solicitor.
- Booking client appointments with the Home Office’s commercial third partes and ensuring all relevant documentation are uploaded in advance of the client’s biometric appointment.
Key Requirements/Skills:
- Previous experience in UK Immigration Law and/or Nationality Law.
- Experience with Home Office systems and processes, and dealing with the Home Office third party providers (TLScontact UK Visa & Citizenship Application Service and VFS Global).
- Previous experience in client-facing roles within a legal or immigration context.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with clients in a friendly and confident manner.
- Experience in case management and handling client files efficiently.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
- A genuine interest in and passion for working with people, providing a high standard of client care and support throughout the immigration process.
- Commitment to delivering excellent client care with a focus on understanding and responding to client needs with empathy and professionalism.
- Excellent technological skills, including proficiency with case management systems, document management software, and general office technology.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to provide a high-quality service to clients and support the department’s goals.
